Our Story

Located on the original Hudson’s site, Pine Hall pays homage to Detroit’s past—and the storied Pine Room—through vintage keepsakes and ice-cold cocktails featuring Michigan spirits. As the first Detroit outpost of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, founded in New York City in 1985, Pine Hall brings four decades of hospitality to the city, drawing on the spirit of beloved restaurants like Gramercy Tavern and Shake Shack.

We're proud to serve up classic cocktails made with spirits from close to home, cold beer, and tavern fare that feels familiar, but perhaps a bit better than you remembered.

Our Menu

Whether you're joining us for a quick snack and drink or settling in for dinner, our menu is built to pair with what's in your glass. On the menu, expect tavern fare. Behind the bar, you'll find classic cocktails, wines that don't take themselves too seriously, and spirit-free options crafted with just as much care. Don't see what you're looking for? Off-menu drink requests are always welcome.

Know Before You Go

The majority of our seats are reserved for walk-ins, with a limited number of reservations available for larger parties. No tables? No worries—we've got plenty of space. Come on up when the feeling strikes.

Pine Hall is located at 3000 Nick Gilbert Way on the 12th floor of Hudson's. You can find us halfway down Nick Gilbert Way, past the GM showroom. Head inside, and our team will be waiting to take you upstairs.

There is paid street parking and several garages nearby. Some convenient options include The Z Garage at 1234 Library St. and the One Campus Maritus Garage at 1188 Farmer St. Pine Hall is steps from the QLine and bus stops on Woodward Ave, and a short walk from the People Mover.

Game Day

Pine Hall sits just steps from Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Little Caesars Arena. Heading to the game? Stop in for a drink before making the short walk to the stadium. After the last play, we'll be ready with a cold one that's fit for celebrating or commiserating.

Prefer to stay put? Our two bar TVs are reserved exclusively for Detroit games (sorry, non-Michiganders), so we've got you covered.

Our Space

Inside: A year-round large indoor bar, lounge seating, dining tables, floor-to-ceiling windows, and sweeping views of the downtown Detroit skyline.

On the Rooftop Patio: A 3,300-square-foot wraparound terrace with fire pits, open-air seating, and sight lines stretching from Comerica Park and Ford Field to Belle Isle, the Detroit River, and the Ambassador Bridge.

300 seats. Not a bad one in the house.
